Avalon Officials Discuss State Plan to Change the Jersey Shore

Avalon Borough officials hosted a presentation Wednesday on a radical change to the Jersey Shore. The state wants to have all new building standards to comply with projected sea level rise the state things will occur 74 years from now. This initiative was conducted through executive order by Governor Murphy. The county is taking the lead on opposition that is growing against this plan. The state’s idea is to put many areas in flood zones, including Route 9 and the Parkway.
