Avalon will start moving sand Wednesday. The Borough announced that its sand backpassing project will begin with sand scraping Wednesday. The goal is to move sand from the center part of the beach to the north end where six blocks were severely eroded by repeated winter storms. The project will conclude mid-June, and pause during Memorial Day weekend.
