The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued swimming advisories for nine Jersey Shore beaches after water samples tested positive for high levels of fecal bacteria. The advisories currently impact six ocean beaches and three bay beaches across Atlantic, Monmouth, and Cape May counties. Specifically, the affected shorelines include locations in Atlantic City, Brigantine, Long Branch, Deal, Atlantic Highlands, Wildwood Crest, and Avalon. Local health departments will continue monitoring the water quality at these sites to determine when conditions return to safe levels for swimmers.
