Cape May County has lost a long-time fixture in local sports. Buddy Tarbotton has passed away at the age of 63. Tarbotton was very active in local sports, broadcasting high school basketball and football games for Coastal Broadcasting Systems and virtual platforms for nearly three decades. Tarbotton wrote sports for the Gazette Leader publications and worked in local recreation. He volunteered for many local schools and organizations and always was prepared for his high school sports coverage, bringing a level of enthusiasm for all schools, including his alma mater, Wildwood Catholic High School. Tarbotton teamed with Brian Cunniff on hundreds of high school sports broadcasts on this radio station during his career. Coastal Broadcasting Systems extends its heartfelt sympathy to the Tarbotton family, and remains grateful for his contributions not only to this broadcasting company but to the Cape May County sports community. His passion for advancing the interests of students in our community through athletic competition was endless and valued; his contribution to local athletics will long be remembered.
