The Chelsea Beach Bar in Atlantic City has abandoned its plans to build a 1,300-square-foot pool and surrounding deck after facing strong opposition from residents of the neighboring Ocean Club Condominiums, who cited concerns about increased noise and partying. The bar owners, in an effort to maintain “goodwill,” withdrew the pool proposal and a request for additional parking spaces, but will proceed with seeking approval for expanded deck space. Residents and their attorney are pleased with the pool’s removal but still have ongoing concerns about the bar’s overall operation.
