Two separate rescues on Saturday took place off the coast of Brigantine. The United States Coast Guard’s first rescue involved two girls, 11 and 14, who were on surfboards when they drifted out to Absecon Inlet, according to NJ Advance Media. Hours later, the USCG responded to two men who were using inner tubes on the inlet. Most beaches in the state are unprotected by life guards following the Labor Day holiday.
