According to a post on Middle Township’s Facebook page, the County of Cape May is planning upgrades to enhance the safety of the intersection of Goshen-Swainton Road and Court House-South Dennis Road. The county awarded a contract to a traffic engineering consulting firm, whose study resulted in the county proceeding with installing overhead flashing caution lights, equipped with back plates to increase awareness. The plan also calls for a pair of signal heads flashing in each direction of the intersection, as well as the closure of the passing zone for south bound Court House-South Dennis Road following the intersection and the addition of new traffic striping and markings. The long term plan of the county is to construct a roundabout at the intersection to help slow the speed of traffic and keep it moving at the same time, according to the post.
