Effective next week, Dennis Township will eliminate courtesy busing for students who live within close proximity of their schools. State law requires that school districts provide free busing for high school students if they live 2.5 or more miles away, and grades K-8 if they live 2 or more miles away. The cut of courtesy busing saves an estimated $100,000 for the Dennis Township School District according to NJ.com.
