Historic Cape May Church Honored on New Jersey’s Black Heritage Trail

Cape May’s historic Macedonia Baptist Church has officially been recognized with a marker on the New Jersey Black Heritage Trail. Unveiled during a recent community ceremony, the permanent marker honors the church for its foundational role as a sanctuary for civil rights, education, and Black culture in the coastal city. This local installation is part of a growing, statewide initiative aimed at preserving and spotlighting historically significant African American landmarks across New Jersey.
