Former Phil Murphy Chief of Staff George Helmy will be appointed to be the next United States Senator from New Jersey. New Jersey Globe reports that Murphy intends to support Helmy for the position to bridge the time between the resignation of convicted democrat Robert Menendez to the election of a new Senator, either Andy Kim or Curtis Bashaw. The announcement is expected Friday.
