New Jersey has scheduled just one in-person public meeting to discuss proposed new building regulations that will change the character of the Jersey Shore forever, and it’s being held in Ocean County. The new rules were included Monday in the official New Jersey register and call for new construction to be as high as projected sea level rise in the year of 2100, or 76 years from now. Local communities are fighting these new rules saying they are egregious, create problems to actually enter homes, and will destroy local property values.
