A Stone Harbor resident announced his candidacy for mayor in his community during a council meeting before the current mayor and the republican nominee for mayor. Bob Ross of Second Avenue spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting and announced he has filed a petition to run for mayor as an independent. Ross told the governing body that he believes Stone Harbor needs a “fresh perspective”. Current Mayor Judy Davies-Dunhour is not running in November; the presumed republican candidate is Councilman Tim Carney.
