Twenty-three moving companies that were operating without a appropriate license were fined in total $125,000 following a sting conducted by state officials, according to NJ Advance Media. The companies answered a phony ad placed by the Office of Consumer Protection. Unlicensed movers can be a nightmare for consumers, as they could lack the appropriate skills, insurance and experience. One of the fined companies was from Cape May County.
