49-year old Anthony Friel of the Villas was arrested by Atlantic City Police after he fled a welfare check in his own car. Police say Wednesday morning Friel appeared to be asleep in his vehicle in a lane of travel. When cops approached, he fled in a reckless manner towards the boardwalk, drove on the boardwalk, and was eventually apprehended after he ditched the vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway. He was charged with two counts of eluding, a drug offense, and other charges.
